Summer Obsessions

This is the first summer that I have lived at the beach for the majority of the season. I watched as the weather grew warm and people migrated towards the waves and volleyball courts after work.  I have spent days in the sand until the sun literally drops beind the Pacific Ocean. I have come to understand Californians' obsessions with living here.

My reason for saying all of this, is the fact that living at the beach this summer has brought so much inspiration and new ideas to me.  I have become obsessed with wavy beach hair, dark tans and relaxed clothing that can take you from day to night.

I see that the season is drawing to an end and I need to get my mind on fall styles, (which in all honesty, I should have done during the february shows).  I need to stray away from cotton dresses and start thinking about booties and coats.  I guess the good thing about living at the beach is you never have to fully transition.

So with all that said, here is a list of my summer obsessions (stylewise that is).  What are yours?

-Tube top maxi dresses

-Tie dyed clothing (even better if its a maxi dress)

-Wavy, wind blown hair (the bigger and messier the better)

-Bright, neon nail polish

-Tote bags in solid colors that can double as a purse and a beach bag

-Button front dresses

-Dresses and tops that have a volmunous shape (i never reall got sick of the trapeze dress....and I never criticized the so called sack look)
